I recently got myself an iPad and wireless keyboard as my Xmas gift and figured why not test it out as a supplement to my computer when I don’t have it with me. Thus far I’m enjoying the keyboard that I got based on a review I read. It’s a great little keyboard made by Microsoft and feels almost as good as a laptop keyboard. More importantly it was extremely affordable ($39.99).
Currently I’m using the WordPress app to type this away and am also testing out the split screen feature to test how well I can multitask in comparison to a fully functional computer.
Thus far multitasking between Safari and the WP app was pretty seamless, though it’s still more convenient to do these things on a computer. Also it seems to take forever to upload photos on the post via the app.
After waiting for what seemed like an extremely long time I decided to just log on to WordPress via Safari like I would on a regular computer and was able to post a picture with ease. This was definitely eye-opening. It seems the web, even if it’s mobile web, is still more functional than web apps despite the arguments to the contrary.
All in all, not a bad first start with this experiment. Tune in when I start using the Stylus I bought by 53, as a supplement to a pencil and drawing pad. I’m trying to get back to my old hobby of drawing and may spur on an old childhood dream to become a cartoonist (though I still feel that is far fetch).
It’s 2015, or close to the end of it and I’ve decided to go back to my old setup of listening to music via Pandora One and iTunes Match. At the end of the day I’m about cost cutting and simplicity and this set up checks off all those points.
It’s funny, I had this set up back in 2011, and then after a year I decided to try something different. Years later and many experimentations with different set ups and trial periods I decided to go back to old reliable. Pandora has been around a long time. They have an easy premise, customized radio stations are pretty much set it and forget it; unless you want to thumbs up or thumbs down some songs for more customization to your liking. You really don’t have to think to much about it. Just let it play and go about the day.
One of the biggest knocks I had with Pandora and still do somewhat, is that there song selection is more limited than the other music services out there. But I’ve come to a realization. I don’t ever have a chance to listen to all 12,000+ songs in my music library so what does it matter if I have only 2 million songs to listen to vs. 15 million or whatever Spotify has nowadays. If I’m bopping my head to the Pandora station then that point is moot.
I still like what Pandora stands for. All about the Music Genome project. I like idea of how they pick songs based on my interests. It works. It’s affordable. When I get service with T-mobile that allows Pandora to have unlimited streaming w/o taxing my data plan it will really rock my world.
It’s been some time since I last blogged. Don’t really have much of a reason for it. Just haven’t had the inclination or the compunction to blog. Not to mention that I didn’t know what to blog about.
That still hasn’t changed all that much, except that I did create a GoFundMe account to help me get a new computer. Specifically a new Apple computer. I’m done with my PC and Windows. I thought I’d give Windows 8 a shot and thought I’ve adapted to it I still rather go back to Mac. In the 2 years that I’ve had my computer I’ve had to do a software restore around 5 times and then re-install and customize everything to my liking. That’s many hours I’ve wasted on troubleshooting and maintenance. Time I could’ve used to blog or do some other endeavor that’s more creative or fun.
Anyway, help me get funded! Who knows? Maybe with a new Mac I’ll be blogging like crazy again 😉
Here is the link. Please help me out, if not by sending a few bucks my way then by spreading the word.
